Let it be known that years before Yellow Cab Pizza first fired up their ovens, I was already riding a New York Checker Cab yellow Vespa. I'd scoot around Malate (where I lived) and Makati (where I worked), occasionally wearing a spiffy black suit and black tie. I hung out with other scooter boys at Lava Lounge, drinking cocktails with names like "The Mod" (say that quick and think naughty thoughts) and The Sassy, and listening to eclectic tunes you'd never hear over local radio.

When Yellow Cab came out I sold the scoot, something I regret now. But, no worries. I'll get another bike eventually, and it'll be kitted out even better than my lamented race ready yellow sleeper. That's a promise I intend to keep.
